Description of Works

• Ford Civil Contracting were engaged to excavate a subfloor within Chapter Hall – Part of the St Mary’s Cathedral, Sydney.

• Chapter Hall is a listed heritage building and subfloor excavation had to avoid any disturbance to existing footing and building structure.

• Access was only via a 1.4m wide doorway which restricted works to a 1.5t Excavator. Spoil was removed from within the building via a series of conveyor belts through the narrow doorway.  

• The project was delivered well ahead of programme with no damage to the heritage building.
