DESCRIPTION OF WORKS

The Hawkesbury Road Widening works were completed in preparation for the Main Infrastructure Works for Paramatta Light Rail (PLR) to eliminate potential conflicts between PLR works and planned NSW Health Developments on Hawkesbury Rd. FCC worked closely with Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) and Health Infrastructure (HI) throughout the project and successfully completed the project ahead of the programmed completion date. The project involved the relocation of existing services, the construction of a cantilevered structure for a future hospital development, new road pavement and new footpath. Careful traffic management was involved throughout the project as Hawkesbury Rd was the main thoroughfare for emergency vehicles for the Adult’s and Children’s Emergency Departments. Alternate construction methods were also used to minimise the risk of vibration when working near sensitive research facilities.
