DESCRIPTION OF WORKS

Construction of new aircraft aprons and associated infrastructure for the extension of Pier A at Sydney Airport’s T2. The works consisted of the construction of new flexible Taxiway pavements, protection of new fuel line assets, high strength rigid Apron pavements, new hydraulic services and adjustments to existing infrastructure, stormwater construction, Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL), floodlighting, Aircraft Docking Guidance Systems, piling and footing works for the new terminal building including the treatment of acid sulphate soils. The works required detailed planning and coordination to meet the operational constraints and allow the operation of all existing Taxiways & Aprons within the logistically demanding environment of an operational International Airport.
