DESCRIPTION OF WORKS

Connect Sydney engaged Ford Civil to deliver the construction of a six-bay bus layover facility and a 30m² bus drivers’ amenities building at the corner of Railway Road and Burrows Avenue, Sydenham. The project is part of a strategic initiative to reduce congestion, improve operational efficiency, and prepare for future demand at this major transport interchange point. The works include full site establishment, earthworks, drainage and utility adjustments, concrete and pavement works, landscaping, and environmental controls. The site presents several challenges including a confined urban footprint, heavy pedestrian movement, and confirmed contamination issues (including asbestos and heavy metals), which will require strict remediation protocols and safe work practices. All works are to comply with TfNSW specifications and must be supported by comprehensive project documentation, including management plans, traffic control strategies, and daily reporting.
